This is a plain-language privacy policy for the Canadian Gaming Archive. There’s not much to disclose, because this site is deliberately built to collect as little as possible: there are no user accounts, no newsletter, and no comment forms anywhere on the site.
No Accounts, No Newsletter
You cannot register an account on this site, and there is nothing to subscribe to. We don’t collect names, email addresses or any other personal information through the site itself as part of normal browsing and reading.
Analytics and Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies of its own. We don’t run third-party analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or session-tracking tools that build a profile of your visit. Your web server naturally logs basic technical request information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of ordinary server operation, in the same way any web server does, but this isn’t cross-referenced against any identity or used for advertising.
Outbound Links to Third Parties
This site links out to licensed gambling operators, government lottery and gaming platforms, and other third-party websites as part of its editorial content. Once you click through to one of those sites, you are subject to that site’s own privacy policy and data practices, not ours — we don’t control what a third-party operator does with information you provide to them directly, and we’d encourage reading their policy before creating an account anywhere. Outbound links route through a plain, same-site redirect on this domain before reaching the operator; that redirect doesn’t attach tracking parameters or a click counter, and exists only to keep destination links maintainable on our end.
If you email us using the contact address on this site, we hold that correspondence only for as long as needed to respond and, where relevant, to review a correction request against the original source.
A Note for Canadian Visitors
We aim to handle any incidental data our server does collect in a manner consistent with the general principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — collecting only what’s operationally necessary, keeping it only as long as needed, and not selling or sharing it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your Rights
Because we don’t hold accounts or personal profiles tied to visitors, there is generally very little personal data of yours for us to access, export or delete on request. If you believe we hold information about you and would like it reviewed, corrected or removed, you’re welcome to reach out using the contact details below and we’ll respond to what’s actually reasonable to address given what little we retain.
Changes to This Policy
If how this site handles information changes — for example if a feature requiring accounts or newsletter signup is ever added in the future — this page will be updated to reflect that before the change goes live, rather than after the fact.
